Mission:
We serve and support expectant moms who have chosen to make an adoption plan by helping ensure access to healthcare, counseling and community resources, as well as providing support to birth families who have placed a child for adoption, regardless of how long ago.
Shared Beginnings began with a desire to provide long-term support to birth mothers who have placed a child for adoption and to restore voice and choice to expectant women who are considering adoption. We link arms with these brave women, connect them to community resources, and help them make informed decisions along the way.
Services:
We meet the needs of families in our community that are placing or have placed children for adoption. By ensuring families that their basic needs are met and connecting them to community resources as well as lifelong counseling, we are able to help them get on their feet and achieve stability and independence.
Volunteer Opportunities:
There are always needs in our offices sorting donations, helping set up for events for clients, fundraisers, and ESL Mentors who help clients through English lessons that are provided and getting them comfortable using their English-speaking skills. We also always need individuals who have trucks to transport furniture donations to our storage units or to clients' new homes. If you feel passionately about our mission and have a business that would like to host a portion-of-sales fundraiser for Shared Beginnings, please give us a call!
