About: 

Saber Life Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships. 

Services: 

Saber Life Foundation trains FIVE types of assistance dogs:

• Mobility/Stability Dogs – Assists individuals with physical disabilities by performing daily tasks.

• Autism Dogs – Assists those individuals with navigation in social settings, providing safety from darting into danger, tracking assisting, interrupting harmful behavior(s), and alerting another individual to a potentially dangerous situation.

• Diabetic Dogs – alert individuals to chemical changes in blood sugars.

• Seizure Alert/Seizure Response Dogs– predict and alert to oncoming seizures to remove themselves from an unsafe environment. Provides assistance to an individual experiencing an epileptic seizure by alerting another individual and other trained task to assist the individual coming out of a seizure.

• Psychiatric Dogs – assist individuals with diagnosis such as depression.

Also, with the increase in military veterans returning with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Saber Life Foundation program does place service dogs with veterans with PTSD as well with any other individual outside of serving in the military that can provide documentation via a doctor’s diagnosis. Dogs will be trained in tasks including nightmare interruption, turning on lights, retrieving items, and supporting their handler in crowded public situations that might provoke anxiety for individuals with PTSD.

Volunteer Opportunities:  

Saber Life Foundation Volunteers are one of the first steps in providing custom-trained Assistance Dogs to people living with disabilities. Without these families, we couldn’t do it. You can be in the Saber Life Foundation Family by volunteering your precious time.

You’ll be supported by our Saber Life Foundation Family each step of the way! We want you to know we’re partnering with you from the beginning and every step along the way.

Once a Volunteer is approved, Saber Life Foundation will contact you to further discuss your volunteering options available. Together, we will strengthen our community.
