Winning

It’s easy to be scammed in our culture to think that the “good guys always win.” It’s even worse when we think that the “good guys” are those of us that have faith.
We believe in God, so we should be winners and win at life, right?
But, let’s be honest. Doesn’t it look like the bad guys win? Like, win a lot?
Psalm 73 is a prayer for us that have faith in God and feel like losers, for us that look around at the greedy getting richer, the bullies getting ahead, and oppressors gaining more and more ground. Asaph, the writer, bears his struggle honestly with God. We can, too. God can handle us and our struggles.
After a grown-up tantrum, the Psalmist is reminded by God that evil has an expiration date, that even the biggest losers with faith in Jesus will be received to everlasting life and glory, and that right here and now (v. 26) “my strength and heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my fortune forever.”
It might look and feel bad right now, but God’s got you and will see you through. Let Him. And, tell Him all about it in the process.
