It's been a bit since we've updated you on new music, but that doesn't mean the pipeline hasn't been full! Let's get into it.
116 is the Reach Records collective named after Romans 1:16, home to artists like Lecrae, Hulvey, Trip Lee, and Tedashii. They've been one of the most important forces in Christian hip-hop since 2005, and "Scars" is one of the tracks from the label's annual summer playlist. Featuring Spencer Kane, Eris Ford, and Don Ready, the track leans into the idea that our wounds don't disqualify us. They're part of the story.
Colton Dixon has been a fixture in Christian rock since his American Idol days, and he keeps finding new ways to make faith feel urgent. "Bones" draws from Ezekiel 37, the vision of dry bones coming back to life, and Dixon has called it "a Christian's response to Halloween." Dropping in October was intentional, and the timing lands perfectly. It's a resurrection anthem dressed up in rock energy.
gio. grew up outside Boston surrounded by gospel music and poetry, took inspiration from TobyMac and Andy Mineo, and has been building something genuinely exciting in Christian hip-hop ever since. "Angel Armies" teams him up with frequent collaborator Dell Mac (who you might remember from "Godspeed" a few weeks back) and KB, one of the most respected voices in CHH. The song is built around a simple but powerful idea: you are never alone, and the God of angel armies goes before you.
