John Van Deusen

John Van Deusen is a singer-songwriter and worship leader from Anacortes, Washington, known for making music that's as honest as it is hook-filled. He first made waves as the frontman of indie rock band The Lonely Forest, which toured with Death Cab for Cutie and Portugal. The Man, performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and was voted NPR's Best New Artist in 2011. Since going solo, Van Deusen has built a devoted following with his genre-blurring blend of indie rock, power pop, and deeply personal faith.

His music doesn't shy away from the hard stuff — doubt, depression, and the tension of believing when life feels heavy. That raw honesty is exactly what makes it connect. His double album As Long As I Am In The Tent of This Body I Will Make A Joyful Noise (Parts 1 & 2) is a sprawling, ambitious worship project recorded in a basement tanning room, featuring everything from anthemic praise songs to guitar-shredding instrumentals.
