Marizu Ikechi, known professionally as Marizu, is a Nigerian singer. Marizu was born in Nigeria in 1998. His father, Bushi Ikechi, was a gospel singer. Marizu began performing at age 16 when he joined a church choir. He released his debut single, Chosen, in 2018. He signed with record label HFP music in 2019. In August 2020, Marizu released his first EP, Chapter 1: Vol.1, following this up with a second EP entitled Chapter 1: Vol.2 in October 2020. His third EP, Deity, was released in July 2021.
In a 2021 interview, Marizu described the relationship between his faith and his music: "When I developed a personal relationship with Christ everything changed. I found myself serving and being more involved in the things of God and that’s how I started making music."
