ON THE AIR Afternoons with Ansen & Kara

We've got some fire beats in our Fresh Finds playlist this week, including some refreshing and positive new sounds from Twenty One Pilots and Justin Bieber, and an introduction to a new artist to Real FM, Asher Postman. So without further ado, let's dive in!

Shy Away  Twenty One Pilots

Twenty One Pilots are back with the first single from their upcoming album, Scaled and Icy, set to release on May 21st. The bouncy track reveals a more upbeat and optimistic sound than their previous record, Trench. Frontman Tyler Joseph said the track started as a tutorial for his younger brother on how to make a song, and eventually morphed into a letter of advice to him.

"The only thing tougher than trying to figure out what your own purpose is, is watching someone whom you love trying to figure out their purpose," the singer said. "So that's what the song is - trying to just give that person that boost of encouragement and pushing them forward."

Hold On  Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber's "Hold On" is just the latest in a string of tracks to hit the mainstream pop charts, and continues his foray into a new era of more mature but hopeful music. “Music is a great way of reminding each other that we aren’t alone. It can be a way to relate to one another and connect with one another,” he said when announcing his album Justice. Hold On is about persevering, Justin said, "Because a lot of us want to give up at times. There’s a lot we can’t control, but there’s always hope."

Found You  Asher Postman

You might have seen Asher Postman's name as the producer on remixes like the "Enough (Mood Remix)" for Social Club Misfits or "Haven't Seen It Yet" by Danny Gokey. But now Asher's original track "Found You" is making its debut on Real FM. Fans of EDM acts like Porter Robinson or Madeon will love the synth-heavy sound, which lyrically and musically conveys the joy that comes from encountering God.
