Mission: Habitat for Humanity seeks to put beliefs into action, bringing people together to build homes, community, and hope.

About: Habitat for Humanity (HFH) was founded in 1976 in Americas, Georgia by Millard and Linda Fuller. The Fullers designed HFH so that those in need of safe affordable housing, work side by side with volunteers to build simple, decent homes. In 1984, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter participated in their first Habitat project. This brought national attention to the work HFH was doing to eliminate substandard housing.

Habitat for Humanity of Washington County, AR was established in 1991. Our affiliate has built over 50 homes for local families. Our families come from various backgrounds, but all have one thing in common: a desire to work hard and give their families a better life by providing a safe place to call home.

Following the HFH International model, our homeowners all work side by side with volunteers to build homes. In addition, they participate in education seminars and work community events. Our hope is to build not only safe, affordable homes, but to build a stronger community. Together we can turn Hope into Homes and build a strong foundation for generations to come in Washington County.

Services: Habitat for Humanity offers hard working, low income families and opportunity to purchase a safe affordable home.

In addition, HFH operates the Habitat ReStore. This is a home improvement discount center. The Habitat ReStore sells gently used, and sometimes new, furniture, appliances, building materials and other household items.

Volunteer opportunities: The Habitat ReStore is open Monday-Saturday from 9:00am-5:30pm. We have a small staff but rely on volunteers to help provide customer service.

We are currently building in Fayetteville and use volunteers to help with most stages of the building process. Please contact us for information on when we will be on the build site.
