Psalm 71 says: “Be to me a Rock of Refuge to which I may continually come... You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again...”
Scripture calls God an “Ever-Present Help in times of trouble.” So together, that means that we can continually come to God when we’re troubled and that He is always there to help. Sure, God can work through prayer that’s like the last-ditch effort. He often does, even with sudden, dramatic results.
What God most often wants to do is have an on-going connection with us through thick and thin. The Psalmist says he has seen many troubles. We have too. If we haven’t yet, we will. The Psalmist says he’s been revived many times, too. So much so, that He is sure more is coming soon. The Psalmist seems to learned what we all need to. Troubles are coming—like, a lot. And, what we need more than them being wished away is to become that kind of people that can persevere and grow through whatever we may face with God’s continual help.
