Purpose in Work

Our significance is not found in our work, but our work does have significance. We are created and loved on purpose, with a purpose, and for a purpose regardless of whatever kind of work we find ourselves doing over the course of our lives.

Scripture says that God has made us for good works that He has prepared ahead of time, that any kind of work can be done to show off His goodness, and that His love at work in us and through us is His trademark.

Regardless of what industry or career you are in, what particular role or job you have, where you find yourself on the organizational chart, or if you find yourself between jobs at the moment, whose you are and who you can love is what is most significant.

Whatever you are up to today, picture yourself with the towel Jesus washed His disciples’ feet with ready to serve, ready to love as He has loved you. Regardless of the paycheck, that is rewarding, significant work.
