Who Am I

So much of our sense of significance in life is wrapped up in the question: who am I?
It’s a disorienting, all too common experience to feel lost about ourselves. When do you feel lost about your identity? It’s vulnerable but important to take a good look.
Maybe you have a degree and seemingly nothing but debt to show for it and end up second guessing yourself for lack of “dream” job.
Maybe a serious romantic relationship ended, and you are struggling to envision a positive future without that person.
Maybe you thought you had the ideal career and person of your dreams, only to lose it all somehow.
Who are we? Who gets to say who you are, really? Life circumstances? More or less success? Who or how many are with you or not?
Before Jesus did any ministry, He was baptized as a symbol of His significance and mission. And, before He did a single thing, the Heavenly Father spoke over him that He was His very own Son, that He was loved, and that He was pleased. Jesus knew the loving smile of God no matter what He faced.
If you’re with Jesus, guess what?
You are His very own.
You are loved.
He is smiling over you right now and always will be.
